25th anniversary of Sea Club's HORN existence

On 19th day of November in Pałącyk of Tomasz Zieliński in Kielce there was a special event which was gala for 25th anniversary of Sea Club's HORN existence. Our honour guests were honorary consul of Croatian Republic - Mr. Paweł Włodarczyk and vice president of Kielce - Mr. Czesław Gruszewski. The Gala leader was Mr. Robert Szumielewicz, who invited vice commodore of our Club - Mr. Marcin Łukasiak - to officialy open the Gala. After this first speech Mr. Czsław Gruszewski took the voice and on behalf of the President of Kielce - Mr. Wojciech Lubawski - he handed over congratulations letter and a small gift from himself to Sea Club's HORN Commodore Mr. Jerzy Ziętal. Next, there was a presentation about Club's achievements throughtout the time. Adam Rogaliński showed a history of Club's creation and first 10 years of it's existence. He showed what impact for Club's development had cruises to Croatia (organized every year since 2001), where most part of our skippers started their sailing careers. Or how our existence reflected on building and development of Croatian tourism. After his speech Consul Paweł Włodarczyk took over and thanked Club's members for joining support for Croatian tourism (which is a major focus of this nation) and for being an organization that supports friendliness between our countries. In the next speech Marcin Łukasiak presented training history in the Club, including presenting our training staff and Yachtmasters. Then Adam Rogaliński showed historical cruises organized by the Club - from the oldest ones on Sheep's Islands and Iceland to latest one on north Siberia. He also mentioned Club's members participation in cruises on Horn and Spitzbergen. Grzegorz Honek presented the newest journey - multistaged cruise to Carribean and back. Then Piotr Molasy showed Sea Club's HORN achievements in lifeguard and safety on water development. He also mentioned experience in cooperation with professional lifeguard's organisations.After that Wojciech "Wasyl" Wiszniewski presented history of Club's Center and shared development plans for it - as an example he took similar marina project being created in Tarnobrzeg. After this show there was a time for honors for Marcin "Baniak" Banach (for his role in Club's development) and for Janusz "Leśniczy" Marcinkowski (for 50 years of experience in water activities). Czesław Bujnowski gave a present from Club's friends to vice commodore's hands, and in return vice commodore handed over two brand new monographies of XXV years of Sea Club HORN. The last point of the Gala was music-vocal presentation "We were there" - over 70 countries flags which Club's members visited and over 140 photos from those countries - all showed in 6-minute spectacle. In unofficial part the band Mechanicy Szanty (our friends that play szanties on normal day basis) sang a few of their songs for us. After this musical-cultural part of the event and quick change to another place (building) our sailors kept talking... until sunrise. 25 years of our Club's existence was summed up deeply and solemnly.
